There’s a new cosmetic dermatology clinic in town. Located at 3901 Fairfax Dr. in Arlington’s Virginia Square neighborhood, Skin Pharm officially opens Thursday, Feb. 26. This is its 15th location in the United States and first one in the DMV.

I had the opportunity to get a first-hand experience before it officially opened. Step inside with me.

My experience

Immediately, I was drawn to the overall design and feel of the space. The set-up of the waiting room is stunning — I need my future home to look like this.

After washing my face, Isabella, one of the providers at the Arlington location, brought me back to the room where I would have my consultation and treatment. Instead of a stuffy doctor’s office feel, the rooms have huge windows that let in a ton of natural light.

Now, I’m going to be very honest with you. I’ve never done anything like this and really didn’t know what to expect. Isabella kindly answered every single question I asked… and I asked a lot.

We began by talking about the history of my skin and what I use day to day. She explained different products that would work well with my skin type and how often I should use them.

Then, we prepped for my treatment. I received the gold infusion, intended to brighten and hydrate the face. Learn more about the specifics. As far as pain goes, it was very minimal. A numbing cream was applied to my face, and I only felt a slight sensation as the tiny needles moved across my upper lip.

Afterward, I received the previously mentioned products, and she explained how each one would protect and support my skin. Take a peek at the products they offer.

How to get involved

Sounds like something you want to try? The business is currently offering specials for its opening.

There will also be a wellness event in collaboration with Solidcore to celebrate the opening on Saturday, March 21. It will include three different 50-minute classes at the Ballston location, complimentary skin consults, a Skin Pharm tote and products, refreshments, and more. Sign-up opens Feb. 25 at midnight for non-members.
