Bring Augusta National to Northern Virginia

You don’t need to travel to Georgia to experience the beauty of Augusta. We rounded up some ways to replicate the Masters experience in NOVA.

The 90th edition of the Masters will return to our screens on Thursday, April 9. Considered by many to be the best week of golf each year, the traditions at Augusta National are legendary.

But there’s no need to fork out on tickets and travel. We can replicate the elements of the experience right here in NOVA:

  • Among Augusta’s unique spectator experiences is a ban on phones, meaning patrons are more engaged with the event. Maybe you could leave your phone in the car the next time you get Arnold Palmers with friends at Northside Social Coffee & Wine.
  • Despite its prestige, concessions are famously cheap at the Masters — there are deals aplenty around NOVA, too. Upgrade from a pimento cheese sandwich, and get the Southern Man Burger from Leesburg Public House, made with praline bacon, pimento cheese, sweet onions, lettuce, and red pepper aioli, all on a toasted sesame seed bun.
  • If you want to hit the course, we’re fans of East Potomac Golf Links. It has multiple courses, a practice area, a driving range, a mini golf course, and food + drink options. Located on Hains Point Island, it also boasts views of the nation’s capital.
