I’m pretty sure this neighborhood is the dog capital of Virginia. All the doggos roaming around the Del Ray neighborhood are just one of the many things that make it so special. Here’s what else I noticed.
I rode the Blue Line to Braddock Road and walked along the Potomac Yard Trail to the coffee shop where I planned to start my day. This path is perfect for a morning stroll, runners, and cyclists.
My coffee shop of choice was Swing’s Coffee Roasters, where I grabbed an oat milk cappuccino. This cafe is ideal for hanging out with a friend, getting some work done, or reading a book. A perk? A dog park is right across the street, perfect for pup watching.

Grab your holiday sweater for this bar crawl. Head to Alexandria’s Del Ray neighborhood on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 12:30 to 6 p.m. for the Candy Cane Bar Crawl. Ticket prices go up after Friday, Dec. 12 — get them here. (ALXnow)
Biz
A Southern-style restaurant is set to make its debut in Loudoun County and has just unveiled its menu. Juleps Kentucky Tavern will open in Ashburn — stay tuned for an opening date. I’m immediately drawn to the salmon two ways, made with honey-glazed salmon and salmon cake.
Closed
Mae’s Market and Cafe in Arlington’s Pentagon City neighborhood has closed, but it looks like the New York City chain Maman will be taking over. If all goes to plan, this will be the second Maman location in Arlington. (ARLnow)
Weather
Looks like we missed the snowfall that our friends at RICtoday saw yesterday. However, as winter weather continues to roll in, consider looking around for unused hats, gloves, scarves, and coats. Donating them to local organizations like Women Giving Back and The Clothesline is just one way to help those around you.

Over the weekend, I stopped by the Rosslyn Cheer 2025: Holiday Market. Sadly, it’s over now; however, there are plenty of other holiday markets you can check out around NOVA this holiday season. Personally, I am on the hunt for a nice ceramic bowl for soups and pho.
