Historic Manassas Holiday Market
When: Friday, Dec. 5
On Friday, from 4 to 8 p.m., there will be live entertainment, a tree lighting ceremony, and, as Buddy the Elf once said, SANTAAAAA.
Tip: Historic Manassas will also host a parade on Saturday, Dec. 6, and offer free carriage rides on Sundays — Dec. 7, 14, and 21. Carriage ride tickets go on sale Monday, Dec. 1 at 10:30 a.m.
McLean Holiday Art + Craft Festival
When: Friday, Dec. 5-Sunday, Dec. 7
Explore unique art and handmade goods from nearly 80 regional artists, featuring pottery, jewelry, soaps, and more. Admission is just $5 and is valid for the whole weekend.
Fairfax City Holiday Market
When: Friday, Dec. 5-Sunday, Dec. 7 + Friday, Dec. 12-Sunday, Dec. 14
This free market offers about 30 vendors each weekend and is located on Old Town Square. Get gifts like watercolor paintings, crochet, something for a furry friend, and other locally made products. While you’re shopping, indulge in a crepe from Good Day Crepe.
Capital Art and Craft Festivals
When: Friday, Dec. 12-Sunday, Dec. 14
Shop fine art and crafts from more than 300 juried artists at the Dulles Expo Center in Chantilly. See the full list of artisans with everything from photography to glasswork. General admission is $11.
Old Town Alexandria Christmas Market and Holiday Craft Show
When: Saturday, Dec. 13
This festive event offers fun for the whole family from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids can create their own ornaments to personalize their holiday tree, and guests of all ages can enjoy carolers, a DJ, photos with Santa, local artisans, and plenty of other holiday cheer.
Herndon Winter Markt
When: Saturday, Dec. 13
Waffle on a stick? Chili dogs? Local creations? Count us in. Here’s a full list of vendors you can check out at this market from 12 to 7 p.m. I’m most excited for a soft pretzel from Nordic-Knot.
