Get into the Halloween spirit by visiting one of the top haunted houses in the area. Here are five of the best haunted attractions in and around Northern Virginia.

Milltown Haunt | Lovettsville

When: Friday-Sunday from now to Sunday, Nov. 2
Tickets: $5 for Farm Midway experience, $40 for general admission, and $50 for RIP admission (front-of-the-line entry to all 3 haunted attractions)

This haunted house features three distinct attractions: Throne House + Barn of Fears, Tricksters Hollow, and The Void. For those who want the seasonal fun without the frights, the Farm Midway offers a more relaxed experience with food trucks, One Family Brewing, games, and other festive activities.

If you really want to get scared, Saturday, Nov. 1, is Extreme Night for those 21 years or older.

Fields of Fear | Centreville

When: Saturdays from now to Saturday, Nov. 8, plus Sunday, Oct. 12
Tickets: $35-$40

Spread across more than 20 acres, this haunted house experience is packed with spooky fun. Attractions include the Cornightmare, Dark Side Hayride, The Firegrounds, and The Forest: Back 40. For a lighter touch, enjoy festive extras like fresh donuts, a giant slide, and Foamhenge.

Haunt Apokalypse: Kingdom of Shadows | Lorton

When: Saturday, Oct. 10-Saturday, Nov. 1
Tickets: $30 for haunted trails, $20 for Halloween Mayhem, + $50 for all access

This event offers something for everyone, with experiences ranging from G to PG-13. If you’re looking to keep things low-key, the G-rated option features a live DJ, local bands, and seasonal treats — and best of all, it’s free. For a bit more thrill, the PG-rated experiences include a story-driven haunted trail, an interactive laser tag-style game, and a sensory darkness challenge. Ready for a real scare? The PG-13 trail delivers an experience designed to truly terrify.

Factory of Fear: The Horror Hotel | Manassas

When: Various October dates
Tickets: $25 online, $30 at the door, additional paranormal activity ticket for $60

Formerly a hotel in Manassas, this haunted house offers scares steeped in local history. Don’t miss the special preview night on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Clifton Haunted Trail | Clifton

When: Saturday, Oct. 25, 2025
Tickets: $20 advanced online, $25 purchased night of the haunted trail

Tickets are now on sale for this one-day-only spooky experience. Don’t forget to bring $5 for parking. While you’re there, grab a slice of pizza or some fresh-baked cookies from the on-site food vendor.
