Prepare for pothole season

We’ve never met a pothole we liked. The good news is, you can help NOVA municipalities get rid of them. Fun fact: Here’s how they form.

What to do in Fairfax County

The Fairfax County webpage asks that you direct most of your pothole reports to VDOT. You can also call 1-800-367-7623 to report them, or to ask who you should contact.

Some exceptions include the Dulles Toll Road, which you should report to the Washington Metropolitan Airport Authority, and the George Washington Memorial Parkway, for which you should contact the National Park Service.

What to do in Arlington County

Before you report potholes, make sure to check the Pavement Condition Index (PCI). It’s a service that plans out the annual funding and paving schedule in Arlington County, so you have access to a timeline.

You can also report potholes in the Arlington area using this form.
What about Alexandria?

Teachers inspire every day — and now is the time to thank them.

The Virginia Lottery’s 9th annual Thank a Teacher Art Contest is underway, and K-12 public school students are invited to submit original artwork by February 2.

Curious about the prizes? Three students will win a $200 Visa gift card, and their schools will receive a $2,000 credit to The Supply Room.

Plus, winning art will be featured on thank-you notes this May.
