As a Midwestern girl, the biggest culture shock for me? How NOVA reacts to snow. Growing up in Wisconsin, I’ve commuted, run, and even biked through feet of snow just to get to class or around my hometown. Just take a look at this photo my dad sent me from Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago.
When NOVA got its first proper snowfall on Friday, the whole region seemed to shut down. I have to admit, I might be getting soft — I didn’t want to leave the house.
