With October halfway through, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the fall season at local farms and markets. Here are five great spots around Northern Virginia to find pumpkins and soak up some autumn fun.
The fall pumpkin harvest + corn maze season lasts through Friday, Oct. 31. Tickets give you access to the pumpkin patch and the 15-acre farm play area. Pumpkins cost extra. Admission is $13 for ages 2-17 and seniors, and $15 for adults.
The fall festival runs through Sunday, Nov. 9, and is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tickets range from $15 to $30, depending on the day. With live music, local tastings, and a classic corn maze, there’s plenty of autumn fun to take part in.
You can purchase pumpkins at the fall festival market. There’s also apple cider, pie, kettle corn, and other tasty treats available.
A new sparkling winery called Petit Domaine is coming to Loudoun County. It will be located at 37938 Charles Town Pike near Hillsboro. The tasting room will also offer food, created by Eric Ziebold, a chef from a Michelin-starred restaurant. (The Burn)

A new spa called JoyLife Spa is now open in the Archer Hotel in Old Town Alexandria. There’s a party today, Oct. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m., in celebration of its grand opening. There will be spa services, drinks, snacks, discounts, and giveaways. Get your tickets here.

The Clarendon Ballroom in Arlington is hosting “Blocktoberfest” this Saturday, Oct. 18, between O’ Sullivan’s Irish Pub + Liberty Tavern. The event will kick off at 2 p.m. and includes DJs, live music, food like pretzels and brats, and other family fun.
Coming Soon
At the end of this month, Georgetown Olive Oil Co. is opening on King Street in Old Town Alexandria. The Georgetown location closed four years ago, making this the only brick-and-mortar store. (ALXnow)
Travel
DC metro leaders have voted to exclude the I-495 Southside Express Lanes construction project from its long-term strategic plan. The project, aimed at reducing traffic congestion in Virginia and Maryland, must be included in the plan to be eligible for federal funding and approvals. The final vote will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 17. (Virginia Mercury)
