The best places to get pumpkins in Northern Virginia

Plus, discover all the other fall festivities these farms have to offer — from hayrides and corn mazes to seasonal treats and family-friendly activities.

With October halfway through, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the fall season at local farms and markets. Here are five great spots around Northern Virginia to find pumpkins and soak up some autumn fun.

Great Country Farms | Bluemont

The fall pumpkin harvest + corn maze season lasts through Friday, Oct. 31. Tickets give you access to the pumpkin patch and the 15-acre farm play area. Pumpkins cost extra.Admission is $13 for ages 2–17 and seniors, and $15 for adults.

Cox Farms | Centerville

The fall festival runs through Sunday, Nov. 9, and is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tickets range from $15 to $30, depending on the day. With live music, local tastings, and a classic corn maze, there’s plenty of autumn fun to take part in.

You can purchase pumpkins at the fall festival market. There’s also apple cider, pie, kettle corn, and other tasty treats available.

Yankey Farms | Bristow

The pick-your-own pumpkin patch at 11812 Bristow Rd. is open through Friday, October 31. Visitors can pick pumpkins, explore the corn maze, meet farm animals, and take part in other seasonal activities. Admission to the farm is free, and pumpkins are priced at 89 cents per pound.

Maple Tree Farm VA | Warrenton

Open for the next two weekends, this farm offers Virginia-grown pumpkins. On the final weekend, Saturday, Oct. 24-Sunday, Oct. 25, take part in the “all-you-can-carry” pumpkin event. There’s also plenty of fall fun like a corn maze, mini donuts, and farm animals.

Messick’s Farm Market | Bealeton

This family-owned and operated farm offers fresh-picked produce and made-to-order meals. The fall festival lasts through Sunday, Oct. 26, and admission costs $10 to $15. Other activities include hayrides, a petting zoo, kid tattoos, a candy canon, and other seasonal fun.
