Fairlington Farmers Market | Sundays, May 4-Nov. 23 | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
  • Parking: Limited, free parking is available in the Fairlington Community Center, S. Utah St., and Quaker Lane.
  • Space: Outdoors
This market offers products from within 125 miles of Arlington. While you walk around the market, the kids can enjoy the playground and soccer field. Note that pets are not allowed.

Del Ray Farmers Market | Saturdays, year-round | 8 a.m.-12 p.m.
  • Parking: Street parking on Mt. Vernon and side streets.

This market has over 20 vendors that change with the seasons. Mt. Vernon Avenue is also a great street to wander, and we highly recommend the used bookstore The Company of Books. Note that pets are not allowed.

News Notes

Plan Ahead

Our friends at RICtoday wrote about Free Fishing Days in Virginia. Starting tomorrow through Sunday, June 8, you can try fishing without needing the yearly $44.50 license.

Pets

Want your pet on a beer can? Submit a photo of your cat, dog, or small companion to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington by June 30. Winners in each category will be featured on cans at The Board Room brewery this August. (ARLnow)

Traffic

This summer, Fairfax County plans to expand its speed camera program to 10 more public schools. There will be a warning period after the cameras are implemented so drivers can appropriately adjust their driving habits. See which schools will be getting speed cameras. (FFXnow)

Development

The final public hearing on adding two express lanes from the Springfield Interchange to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge is Wednesday, June 11, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nannie J. Lee Memorial Recreation Center. The formal presentation begins at 6:30 p.m.

Sports

Alexandria will serve as the home base for Al Ain FC of the United Arab Emirates during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. The team is scheduled to play two matches at Audi Field in DC later this month.
