It’s easy to eat farm-to-fork in NOVA, because our farmers markets are simply un-beet-able.

Whether you’re shopping for locally grown fruits + veggies, NOVA-roasted coffee beans, or artisan home goods, you can find it at your nearest market.

In the spirit of supporting all things local, we’ve rounded up eight farmers markets in the NOVA area where you’ll find fresh food, live music, and local vendors.

FRESHFARM Arlington Market | Saturdays, year-round | 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

  • Parking: There is free parking by the Arlington Courthouse Plaza Shopping Mall.
  • Space: Outdoors

This huge market includes 50+ vendors curated by farmers and producers. You can buy items like farmstead goat cheese and pastured bison from locals.
Columbia Pike Farmers Market | Sundays, year-round or seasonal | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Parking: Street Parking
  • Space: Outdoors

Check out the 10+ vendors at Pike Parkselling everything from local pastries to microgreens. Afterwards, grab a coffee nearby at Idido’s Coffee and Social House.

Fairfax Farmers Market | Saturdays, May 10-Oct. 25 | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Parking: Park for free at City Hall, City of Fairfax Regional Library, or East Street parking lot, to name a few.
  • Space: Outdoors

Voted one of the top three markets in Virginia by Virginia Living Magazine, the Fairfax Farmers Market offers around 40 vendors for locals to enjoy. Once you’ve secured your goodies at the market, take a seat at one of the many picnic tables.

Old Town Farmers’ Market | Saturdays, year-round | 7 a.m.-12 p.m.

  • Parking: Head to the Market Square Parking Garage for a free spot from 5:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays.
  • Space: Outdoors
  • Pets are not permitted at this market.

One of NOVA’s more popular markets, this market also offers the SNAP dollar program, which means you’ll receive an extra $20 in SNAP dollars every time you shop here.
FRESHFARM Ballston Market | Thursdays, Apr. 3-Nov. 20 | 3-7 p.m.

  • Parking: Street Parking
  • Space: Outdoors
  • Special events: On the first Thursday of every month, enjoy Mega Market — music, a beer and wine garden, and giveaways are among the highlights.

This market is a great stop for your weekly groceries, or maybe you’re looking for a prepared meal like an empanada — that’s what I’ll be getting. Welburn Square is easily accessible because it’s across the street from the Ballston Metro station. If you’re shopping with kids, head to Quincy Park after the market — it’s just a half-mile walk away and offers a playground and plenty of green space.
Fairlington Farmers Market | Sundays, May 4-Nov. 23 | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Parking: Limited free parking is available in the Fairlington Community Center, S. Utah St., and on Quaker Lane.
  • Space: Outdoors
  • Pets are not permitted at this market.

Shop products produced within 125 miles of Arlington while you walk around the market. Pro tip: Kids can enjoy the playground and soccer field.
Del Ray Farmers Market | Saturdays, year-round | 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

  • Parking: Street parking on Mt. Vernon and side streets
  • Space: Outdoors
  • Pets are not permitted at this market.

This market has 20+ seasonally-rotating vendors. Pro tip: Mt. Vernon Avenue is a great street to wander after shopping we highly recommend browsing used books at The Company of Books.

Annandale Farmers Market | Thursdays, May 1-Oct. 30 | 8 a.m.-12 p.m.

  • Parking: Street Parking
  • Space: Outdoors
  • Pets are not permitted at this market.

Located in Mason District Park, this farmers market offers more than just fresh, delicious food — you can also check out music and local community organizations.
