The National Air and Space Museum’s Udvar-Hazy Center is hosting its annual Air + Scare event on Saturday, Oct. 25.

This family event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and visitors are required to get free, timed tickets for the outdoor portion of the event. The indoor portion and touring exhibits do not require tickets.

The event will include trick or treat stations, crafts, experiments, and, new this year, the Air + Scare Runway costume fashion show. Will you be the best-dressed this year?

Plan Ahead

Arlington Restaurant Week is just around the corner. This popular event kicks off Monday, Oct. 13, and runs through Monday, Oct. 20. Explore the list of participating restaurants.

Loudoun County just welcomed its first Playa Bowls location in the Village at Leesburg. You can now grab smoothies, acai bowls, oatmeal bowls, and other healthy treats at this new spot. (The Burn)

Festival

Calling all cider fanatics. The Alexandria Cider Festival will return to the Lloyd House on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 1 to 5 p.m. Virginia cideries will be offering tastings perfectly paired with delicious food from local food trucks. Last year’s event sold out, so be sure to get your tickets. (ALXnow)

Development

A 129,000 sq. ft. members-only car club, known as Xavo Motor Club, has been proposed for 44970 Russell Branch Parkway in Ashburn. Plans include a four-story building with a garage for members to showcase and store their vehicles. Find out the sale price of the site. (Washington Business Journal)

Environment

Alexandria will soon begin the process of removing invasive species in the Wilkes Street Tunnel and several parks in the city. Affected areas will have temporary fencing around them as the city begins its work. See the specific areas being targeted. (ALXnow)

A new development is coming to Old Town North, Alexandria. HRP Group is redeveloping the former Potomac River Power Plant into a 10-acre mixed-use community. The plans include new homes, waterfront dining, rooftop bars, dog parks, playgrounds, and plenty of community green space.
