A new mural by Ohio artist Jeremy Jarvis is coming to McLean’s Old Firehouse Center for its 50th anniversary. Community members are invited to help paint it this Saturday, Sept. 6, in 45-minute sessions between 10 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. Sign up to help with this community piece. (FFXnow)

Starting Sunday, Sept. 7, the Alexandria Jazz Pop-Up brings smooth sounds to The Market at the Southern Towers. This free event features a live performance by jazz trumpeter Alex Parchment, plus interactive art projects and additional performances. (ALXnow)
