Indigo Girls with the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra | Thursday, June 19-Friday, June 20 | 8 p.m. | Capital One Hall, Tysons | $100+ | Hear the Indigo Girls perform songs like “Closer to Fine” and “Dear Mr. President” accompanied by the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra.
Fun for the fam
Firefly Festival | Sunday, June 22 | 7-9 p.m. | Fort CF Smith Park, Arlington | Free | Admire the twinkling natural light of fireflies as they light up the park sky — bring a blanket or picnic for the family.
Goat Yoga in Arlington | 2-3 p.m. | Faith Lutheran Church, Arlington | $45 | The friendly herd from Walnut Creek Farm will roam among you while you enjoy a casual yoga practice, with plenty of time for goat cuddles.
Fairfax Symphony Celebrates Zimmerman’s 15th Anniversary | 8 p.m. | Concert Hall, Fairfax | $20+ | Hear a powerful performance from the Fairfax Symphony while celebrating the artistry and visionary leadership of Maestro Zimmerman.

Alexandria’s 81st D-Day Celebration | 1-4 p.m. | City Hall Market Square, Alexandria | Free | Commemorate D-Day with an official ceremony, live 1940s music, World War II reenactors, children’s activities, displays, and food.
RSM Festival 2025 | 2:30-6 p.m. | Oakton High School, Vienna | Free | Enjoy a math carnival, fun games, creative crafts, and more at this family-friendly event.
Tuesday, June 3
Rosslyn LIVE: Drag Show | 6-8 p.m. | Gateway Park, Arlington | $13 | Celebrate World Pride with a revue showcasing the impersonations of the world’s top musical legends.

Movies Under the Moon | 8-10 p.m. | Van Dyck Park, Fairfax | Free | Bring a blanket, chairs, and your favorite movie snacks for a flick — the fun starts with “Finding Dory.”
We’re already dying to try this new bakery in Fairfax. Bakery Museum & Co., located at 11923B Lee Hwy., is serving up sweet treats out of this world, like a cookie croissant. Wash it down with the Pink Matcha — their signature matcha topped with a strawberry cold foam.
Traffic
The city of Arlington is seeking feedback on a potential raised intersection at the Vacation + Lorcom lanes intersection. The goal is to slow down traffic and enhance driver awareness of pedestrians. (ARLnow)

Do you chronically lose things?LostAF, a new product launching in Arlington, aims to make finding lost items easier than ever. Developed by Falls Church accountant Dave Doctor, LostAF uses a simple bar code sticker that people can scan to email you if they find your misplaced belongings. (ARLnow)

Old Town Books is launching Fabled Ice Cream this summer. You’ll be able to enjoy a story-inspired sweet treat at the bookshop or other locations around Alexandria. The first event will be a silent reading + ice cream party on Saturday, June 7, at the Hotel AKA Alexandria.
Festival
The Happy Hour Concert Series in Alexandria kicks off on June 12. Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m., enjoy free outdoor concerts ranging from folk rock to island vibes. My new favorite picnic spot is the grassy hill at the Netherlands Carillon in Arlington. It’s the perfect place to spread out a blanket and take in the views of the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. If you’re lucky, like I was, you might even catch a few local pups enjoying the sunshine, too.
