News Notes

Traffic

Do you have thoughts about Beltway traffic? VDOT will host a public meeting at Thomas Edison High in Alexandria today, April 7 at 6:40 p.m. to discuss potential new express lanes on the Beltway. The express lanes would run from Springfield to Maryland near the National Harbor. (WJLA)

Two Nine, a Japanese restaurant, is now open in Georgetown. Located at 1218 31st St. NW in Hamilton Court, this omakase restaurant and cafe offers seasonal seafood imported from Japan. Make a reservation.

Texas Donuts is slated to open in Glyndon Plaza in Vienna as early as June. Can’t wait that long for fresh donuts? Check out the current locations in Centreville, Manassas, and Lorton. (The Patch)

Good news for romance readers — Friends to Lovers just reopened. After closing due to a fire last year, the first romance bookstore in the DC metro area is now located at 301 Cameron St. in Old Town Alexandria. Fans are already noticing that the space is even bigger. (WTOP)

Fashion Centre at Pentagon City Mall will get a Japanese-style arcade. Gatcha Arcade is slated to take over a space across from the Panda Express in June. Look forward to trying to grab plush from the Clawcade. (Northern Virginia Magazine)
