Your 2025 NOVAtoday Wrapped is here. For the past eight months, you’ve received daily updates on restaurant openings, concerts, weekly events, and so much more. Now we’re taking a look back at the year’s biggest stories — starting with some fun stats.

  • NOVAtoday now has 15,142 subscribers — thank you for reading and supporting us. We appreciate every one of you.
  • Since we launched in April, you’ve read 157 editions of our newsletter.
  • On average, it takes our readers about five minutes to go through the newsletter, which means you’ve spent 785 minutes (about 13 hours) with us if you caught every newsletter.

So much has happened throughout the last year in NOVA. Let’s see what has all changed.

  • NOVAtoday launched on April 7 of this year, bringing you all of the local happenings right to your inbox. Take a stroll down memory lane and check out our first newsletter.
  • Before the first newsletter, we were already writing content. Kicking things off in March, this Arlington neighborhood was named the Best Place to Live in America. Do we agree?
  • Later in April, Alex Ovechkin broke Wayne Gretzky’s record for the most NHL career goals. As of late November, Ovechkin now sits at 909 goals.
  • NOVA welcomed a ton of new restaurants throughout the year... too many to count. One of my favorites is the new Japanese restaurant, Oasis: The Listening Bar, that opened in Arlington’s Clarendon neighborhood in August.
  • I had the opportunity to explore and learn more about Area 2 Farms in September. The company hopes to break ground on its Fairfax location by mid-February. Make sure you and your friends are subscribed, so you get updates.
  • In November, the state of Virginia saw some big changes, including an election and a switch to digital driver’s licenses, creating more ease for those throughout the state.
